Happy to Help caregiving - Pocatello, ID

The SBDC has helped since the beginning with their business plan, growth strategy, operations, marketing, and employee management

Taylor Rees (right) opened Happy to Help in late 2022. An ISU alum, he called on his long-time friend and ISU classmate Montana Martens (left) to help him start. Rees used his experience in the home care industry to conceive a better business (and people) model.

Rees decided to work only with specific insurance companies whose reimbursement rates could support a living wage for caregivers. He also takes private pay clients. Additionally, he modernized the on-boarding process for both clients and employees. Now, he can support hiring employees and new clients in areas outside of Pocatello.

Rees doubled his client base every month in 2023 and ended his first year in business in the black.  He has hired 150 employees including three full time management staff.  “Ann is so helpful! I highly recommend utilizing this great resource.” Said Rees, “We meet with Ann at the SBDC every month. She is a great sounding board and her ideas have helped me navigate growing pains. Claudia has been instrumental in helping us with our bookkeeping and financial management.”
