Atomic Threads - Hayden, ID
From Screen Printing Enthusiast to Print-Forward Hero: The Atomic Threads Story
Andrew’s journey from a college elective in screen printing to becoming the owner of Atomic Threads, a custom logo wear business in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, is nothing short of remarkable. When the 2008 recession hit and the company he worked for struggled, Andrew made a bold move: he purchased the failing business and embarked on a path filled with determination and passion.
The early days of ownership were challenging, with long hours and the task of gaining the trust of clients. However, Andrew’s commitment to excellent customer service and timely delivery soon won over prestigious clients like Kootenai Health and Avista Utilities. As the business flourished, he attributed much of his success to the support of his community, the expertise of a great accountant, and guidance from his Idaho SBDC Business coach, Warren Mueller.
As the months passed, Atomic Threads adapted to the changing landscape, implementing new systems that allowed them to work more efficiently and remotely. Although the future remains uncertain, they are confident in their ability to rely on these newfound processes and technologies to navigate whatever comes their way.
Looking ahead, Andrew doesn’t dream of running a large enterprise. Instead, he finds fulfillment in working closely with his dedicated staff, serving their clients, and being an integral part of a supportive community. For him, the success of Atomic Threads lies in the meaningful relationships they build and the positive impact they create.
Andrew’s journey from an accidental entrepreneur to a resilient business owner exemplifies the power of passion and community support. Atomic Threads’ commitment to helping local businesses during tough times and their adaptability in the face of adversity make them a shining example of how small businesses can thrive, no matter the challenges they encounter.
