Meet the Staff
Bryan has been with the Idaho Small Business Development Center since 1996 and South Central Regional Director since 2006. Bryan’s educational credentials include a B.A. in Education from Boise State University and an M.E. from the University of Idaho.
Prior to joining the Small Business Development Center, Bryan worked in public education, and then worked his way up as a sales representative to become the general manager of a software development firm for Hewlett Packard Company. His business experience includes activities as a marketing director, business owner, member of the Board of Directors, Secretary/Treasurer of an Idaho Corporation, LLC formation.
Bryan is also the Manager of the College of Southern Idaho’s Small Business Incubator, which serves the greater Magic Valley area. He is a trustee of the Twin Falls Board of Education, Regional Director of Idaho Council on Economic Education- Region IV, Chairman of Historic Old Towne Economic Development, Chairman of the United States Judo Federation’s National Teacher’s Institute, Director of the College of Southern Idaho’s Judo Curriculum, and Marketing Director for the College of Southern Idaho ACT Center for Training and High-Stakes Testing.
Mary has been with the Idaho SBDC since July of 2015. Previously, she was an operations supervisor in a local call center specializing in Medicare Insurance. She has 11 years experience as a retail department manager, as well as 17 years in commercial sales for a janitorial and food service supplier.
Mary holds a Health, Life and Disability License through the state of Idaho.
Dennis comes with a background in computers, including programming, system designs, installation, and software design and installation. He has owned his own computer business, and has had experience being a project manager.
He has also been a school administrator and has coached several different sports at different levels.
His education includes a B.S. in Computer Science and Mathematics from Valparaiso University and an M.B.A. from Northwest Nazarene University.
Dennis Burgett has been in Twin Falls Idaho for 20 years.
Brent is a native Idahoan and studied at Idaho State University where he earned degrees in both Corporate Finance and Management & Organization. He spent his entire 40 year career in banking and finance and attended the RMA Credit Analysis School at Leesburg, Virginia.
Brent has been a guest instructor at the College of Southern Idaho and the American Institute of Banking. Prior to semi-retiring at the end of 2017, Brent worked for several regional and community banks where he specialized in commercial lending and he became the Regional Commercial Loan Manager for a large, regional banking organization. Brent is a two time recipient of the Idaho SBA Lender of The Year Award.
Trey Mohammed started with the Idaho Small Business Development Center in April of 2018. He has a Master’s Degree in Management and Leadership and a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing Management. Also, Trey is an alumni of the College of Southern Idaho while playing Baseball for CSI.
Mr. Mohammed brings nine years of retail, coaching, and residential investing experience to the Idaho Small Business Development Center. Additionally, he has led teams from 2 to 25 members. Clients and the Center find great benefit in Mr. Mohammed’s focus in Digital Marketing.
After his time abroad, Dennis returned to CSI and was the Business club advisor until retirement — traveling with students exploring business careers throughout the U.S. and overseas. Upon retiring from CSI in 2017, Dennis and his wife, Linda, served a two-year mission in the Kingdom of Tonga (South Pacific) consulting and helping administer private, church-owned schools.
Dennis has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University with a major in Marketing and minors in Economics, Accounting and Spanish. Dennis also holds an MBA from Texas A&M University. Outside of teaching, Dennis has experience managing employees and running a store during the four years he worked as a retail grocery store manager.
Catherine started with the Idaho Small Business Development Center in October 2020 as an Administrative Assistant/Training Coordinator. She is a seasoned Administrative Assistant with over 20 years of experience having held positions in the private and public sectors which she is able to tailor her skills to meet the needs to various clients. She has an extensive background with administrative tasks, office management and event coordinating.
Catherine is a San Antonio, Texas native and moved to Idaho when she married her husband in 2019. She spent her last 16 years working with Keurig Dr Pepper in San Antonio, Texas.
Barbara Miller started with the Idaho Small Business Development Center in August 2020. She has a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Pepperdine University. Barbara brings a varied employment background to the center. She has worked in banking, retail, and most recently public administration.
She spent the past 20 years working for a midsize city in California. She operated their customer service desk. She mentored college students starting their careers in Public Administration. She also assisted businesses in obtaining the required permits from the police department.
Helen is a retired secondary school teacher. She has graduate degrees in occupational training and economic education. Helen is an experienced traveler and can’t wait to be able to go again. She has experience in small business operations through family connections.
Rebecca Smith joined the South Central Idaho SBDC in June of 2021 as an Educator. She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge holding an MBA with a focus on Human Resources and is currently pursuing her Doctoral in Business. Rebecca is also a Certified Labor Relations Leader and has an SPHR certification.
Throughout her career, Rebecca has had opportunities to provide leadership and management of the full range of HR functions. Partnering with key executives across the businesses, Rebecca was able to drive employee engagement, morale, and performance in an environment experiencing both significant external and internal organizational change.
She also has experience establishing short and long-term corporate human capital plans, which include creating and implementing management and employee training programs, maintaining or improving employee relations, talent development, succession planning, workforce planning, HR Audits, and performance management.
Alexza was born in Jerome, Idaho. She was raised in a spanish speaking household and is currently a student at the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls where she is majoring in Business Administration. She entered the work field in April 2018, and has worked a variety of customer service positions.
She joined the Idaho Small Business Development Center of Southern Idaho as a Work-Study in March of 2021. Her goal is to be in the family business.
