2024 Statewide and Regional Impact Reports
In 2024, the Idaho Small Business Development Center (SBDC) continued its mission of strengthening Idaho’s small business community and driving economic growth across the state. With 55 dedicated team members (35 FTEs), the SBDC provided expert guidance to 2,547 clients, delivering over 16,397 hours of consulting and 6,170 training hours to empower entrepreneurs at all stages of business development.
The impact of this work was substantial. Over the past year, the Idaho SBDC helped launch 99 new businesses while supporting the creation of 464 new jobs and sustaining a total of 7,021 jobs statewide. Small business owners benefited from expert advising and funding support, leading to $32 million in capital raised for business expansion and development. Client businesses also saw measurable growth, with total reported increased sales of $59 million, reflecting the effectiveness of Idaho SBDC’s consulting and training programs.
The economic contributions of the Idaho SBDC extended beyond individual businesses. The center’s services generated a total economic output of $227 million, including $83 million in labor income and $123 million in value added to Idaho’s economy. Additionally, the impact of SBDC-supported businesses contributed to $12 million in state and local tax revenue and $19 million in federal tax revenue, reinforcing the center’s role as a key driver of economic development across the state.
The Idaho SBDC’s impact is measured through verified client feedback, ensuring that businesses directly attribute their growth to consulting and training services. This data is shared with key stakeholders, including the SBA, State of Idaho, and university hosts, demonstrating the center’s ability to deliver a strong return on investment for Idaho’s economy.
