Affordable Care Act

Oct. 1 Deadline Applies to Most Small Businesses

The Affordable Care Act requires employers covered under the Fair Labor and Standards Act (FLSA) to provide specific notification to their employees by October 1.  Businesses covered under the FLSA are typically businesses with one employee and at least $500,000 in sales.  Owners who want to  meet this requirement by Oct. 1 can visit this page that explains the law and use this model notice for employers who do not offer health care.
