Getting Help from the SBDC

There is a saying that goes, “You don’t have to commit everything in life to memory. You just need to know where to go for help with the things you have forgotten”. Well, small business owners, the Small Business Development Center could be that resource.

The SBDC network is a national organization with 1100 centers across the country. Each center is attached to a college or university. Idaho has six centers located in Post Falls, Lewiston, Boise, Twin Falls, Idaho Falls and Pocatello. A large portion of the SBDC funding comes from the Small Business Administration.
So what can the Small Business Development Center do for you? Our offices provide no-cost individual consulting for start up and existing small businesses in Idaho. Our goal is to help them become better at what they do so they can make money, pay taxes, and hire people. And, we know how to keep a secret. All consulting sessions are strictly confidential. It’s just like Las Vegas- what goes on in our office stays in our office.

Collectively, we have very broad and diverse business backgrounds and skill sets. During a consulting session, we work to apply generally accepted business principles to the wide variety of issues and problems brought in by small business owners.

In addition to consulting services, each SBDC office is required to conduct and sponsor business training sessions throughout the year. Be sure to watch
check our websites for future trainings and events.

There you have it. Anyone with questions concerning any of the business consulting or training opportunities available at your local Small Business Development Center is encouraged to give us a call. We are willing to help.
