CLEAN TECH SBIR: SMALL BUSINESS INNOVATION RESEARCH (SBIR) FOR THE OFFICE OF ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND RENEWABLE ENERGY

The Energy Department will present a live webcast on the EERE portion of the FY 2014 Funding Opportunity Announcement (DE-FOA-0001046) on Monday, December 9, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.Eastern Standard Time. The webinar is intended to benefit First-Time applicants to the EERE part of the Department of Energy Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR)/Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) FY 2014 Phase I (Release 2) FOA (http://science.energy.gov/~/media/grants/pdf/foas/2014/SC_FOA_0001046.pdf).  The webinar will feature remarks from Mr. Jere Glover, one of the founders of the federal SBIR program.  Experts from EERE’s technology offices will provide background information that can be difficult for first time applicants to find.  For example, the FOA can be accessed by registering as an Applicant on EERE’s Funding Opportunity Exchange site (https://eere-exchange.energy.gov/Registration.aspx), logging in, and scrolling down the FOA list almost to the end to locate information about DE-FOA-0001046. The EERE SBIR program is targeting First-Time applicants as part of an effort to increase the number of applicants from women- and minority-owned small businesses (http://energy.gov/eere/about-eere-small-business-innovation-research-diversity-initiative).
